| Basic and clinical research for urinary tract infection
and sexually transmitted infection. |
|
| |
 |
| Urinary tract infections (UTIs) and sexually transmitted
diseases (STDs) are the most common health care associated
infections. UTIs are accounting for up to 40% of all infections
and up to 10% of hospitalized patients have urinary tract
infections. STDs are also serious socio-economic problems
not only in developing countries, but also in developed
countries in Asia. The impact of these infections is very
significant in terms of cost, morbidity and mortality.
One of the problems is compounded by the spread of antimicrobial
resistance among the microorganisms. In recent years,
there have been many changes in our understanding of
the pathogenesis, epidemiology, and management of UTIs
and STDs. However, we have not close relationship to
discuss about this important issue in UTIs and STDs
in Asia. On behalf of organizing committee of Asian
UTI Forum, I would like to propose to make up the research
group for UTIs and STDs in Asia.
This is first opportunity that scientists who are
interested in UTIs and STDs in Asia will gather each
and discuss about these important infections. Please
come to Fukuoka and enjoy the scientific program, business
meeting and beautiful city Fukuoka. |
